Concert : Merel & Tony
Merel & Tony are a Dutch/Texan duo who write quietly dramatic music graced with strings, moody Rhodes piano hooks, ukuleles, skittering drums and winding sub synths.
Their backgrounds in folk, post-punk and theater blend with a shared love of cabaret, Laurie Anderson, and their large family of musicians in Texas.
The resulting music covers a lot of ground. Over the past ten years, they’ve toured the U.S., produced multiple EPs, and written music for radio and the theater.
They were recently signed to the Marmoset music agency.
